I’ve spent more than 20 years in hiring, with the last 12 deep in talent acquisition and recruiting. I know what it actually takes to get hired, and not the internet advice version, the real one.

I’ve worked in recruiting firms chasing “purple squirrels,” inside global companies with complex hiring machines, and alongside owners and CEOs at mid-sized businesses where every hire matters. I’ve interviewed thousands of candidates, reviewed more resumes and LinkedIn profiles than I can count, and seen exactly what makes someone stand out and what quietly gets them passed over.

I’ve also been a candidate. I’ve landed roles at highly competitive companies without referrals by knowing how to tell my story clearly and answer hard questions with confidence. That matters, because most people don’t lose out due to lack of talent — they lose out because they don’t know how they’re coming across.
